FREDERICK, MD – Recognizing a lifetime of dedication to the auction business and service to the industry, the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) inducted Dave Langley into the NAAA Hall of Fame at the Association’s 57th Annual Convention held in Phoenix, Ariz., last month.

Langley, manager of the Vehicle Remarketing Division at American Honda Finance Corp., is responsible for Honda Financial Services auction and dealer sales programs, as well as residual value claim processing. He joined Honda Finance in 1993 to design and develop the company’s lease end-of-term and remarketing processes. His previous professional experience includes managerial positions with Volkswagen of America and Saab Cars, USA. He was also the president of the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) through 2004.

Langley started informal luncheon discussions in 1999 with local Southern California remarketers to seek ways to improve remarketing efficiency. The meetings eventually developed into the IARA as a nonprofit organization to promote education and efficient methods of remarketing. Langley developed the Roundtable format for discussing current remarketing issues and served as a moderator for several Roundtable sessions. He helped create the IARA Online Remarketing Orientation courses with Northwood University, in which more than 80 students have completed the courses to date. Langley also established the IARA Circle of Excellence Award, which has been awarded to three outstanding remarketing individuals. There are currently more than 100 IARA members.

Langley met his wife of 35 years in high school. Together, they have a daughter and a son and three grandchildren.
