RICHMOND, VA – CarMax, Inc. has announced that Donna Wassel, regional vice president for the company's Atlanta Region, has been selected as one of the "100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry" by Automotive News magazine.

Wassel joined CarMax in 1996 as a manager-in-training at the CarMax used-car superstore in Norcross, Ga. Following her training, Wassel opened the CarMax superstore in Orlando as location general manager. She then returned to the Norcross superstore in the same position. In 1998, Wassel was promoted to general manager of the CarMax locations in Texas, and in 1999, to regional vice president and general manager of CarMax's Southwest Region. In 2004, Wassel was named to her current position. She currently oversees 13 CarMax superstores in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, which employ approximately 1,800 associates.

Prior to joining CarMax, Wassel was employed by PepsiCo and Frito-Lay in various management positions. At PepsiCo, she received numerous awards, including Market Manager of the Year for Taco Bell and Sales Manager of the Year for Frito-Lay.
