MT. ARLINGTON, NJ – The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) announced that the Alliance has endorsed the adoption of the NAAA Vehicle Grading Scale. The scale ranks used vehicle conditions from a scale of 0 to 5; with five meaning the vehicle is in excellent condition and zero meaning salvage, inoperable.

“The Alliance believes that standardization in the remarketing industry, where possible, is a necessary goal,” said Matt Marks, IARA executive director.

“The NAAA Grading Scale represents a tremendous collaborative effort by all of the industry segments. It will provide a tool for both remarketers and auctions alike to effectively communicate the condition of the vehicles. While it is not a ‘one size fits all,’ it is ‘one size fits many.’ The uniform grading scale will help move the industry forward to the next level,” said Steve Houston, president of the IARA.
