ATLANTA – Manheim’s Statesville Auto Auction in Statesville, N.C., has been added to the Total Resource Auctions network of wholesale salvage auctions. The auction will conduct its Total Resource Auctions salvage sales every Tuesday in addition to its regular sale.
Total Resource Auctions allows buyers and sellers to securely move damaged, inoperative and salvage vehicles through selected Manheim locations and Web-based products, including Simulcast and Online Vehicle Exchange. Buyers can participate in every sale either at the auction or online.
According to General Manager Ken Phillips, the auction currently handles as many as 150 vehicles per week at its salvage sale, and he expects that number to grow rapidly under the Total Resource Auctions platform. Simulcast in particular has been an asset at Statesville Auto Auction’s regular sales, he said, and the online tool will play a role in the auction’s enhanced salvage sales.
“Manheim Simulcast buyers constitute as much as 35 percent of sales in our traditional lanes, and we are going to use that option to generate interest and participation in our salvage sales,” he said. “Our technology allows us to conduct sales using screens right in the lanes, so buying dealers at the sale are seeing the same vehicle images as their peers bidding on Simulcast.”
Statesville Auto Auction is the ninth Manheim location to operate under the Total Resource Auctions brand. As many as four more locations are expected to be added by the end of the year.
