PHOENIX – DriveTime, a used-car sales and finance company, made a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross in Phoenix to help the millions of people affected by Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
"Though we don't have dealerships in any of the affected states, our hearts go out to the families affected by the disaster," says Jon Ehlinger, DriveTime spokesperson. "The American Red Cross is a great organization and we know our donation will go straight to the people who need it the most." Many individual DriveTime dealerships across the country are also raising money and collecting essential items, such as bottled water, for hurricane victims.
Last January, DriveTime and their employees donated nearly $100,000 to the American Red Cross for the South Asian tsunami relief effort. And last summer, the company provided financial breaks to their customers affected by the hurricanes in Florida.
