ATLANTA – Manheim announced that it has created a new salvage subsidiary called Total Resource Auctions.

Total Resource Auctions allows buyers and sellers to securely move damaged, inoperative, and salvage vehicles through selected Manheim locations and Web-based products, including Simulcast and Online Vehicle Exchange. Buyers can participate in every sale either at the auction or online.

The first Total Resource Auctions wholesale salvage events will be held at seven Manheim auction locations – Tampa, Pensacola, American Auto Auction (Boston), Greater Phoenix, Texas Hobby Auto Auction (Houston), Atlanta Auto Auction, and Mississippi Auto Auction (Hattiesburg) – with sales slated to be up and running at six more nationwide locations by the end of the year. Additional Total Resource Auction locations will be opened across the country over the next several years, providing a national solution to customers. All Total Resource Auction sales will be regularly scheduled – either weekly or bi-weekly – and will be open to a worldwide audience via Simulcast.

“Manheim has been facilitating the sale of these type of vehicles for years,” said Manheim President and CEO Dean Eisner. “We decided to create Total Resource Auctions primarily because our customers have been asking us to increase the salvage services we provide. By leveraging our existing resources, we will provide a consistent approach at all of our salvage locations.”

Bill Tiedemann, vice president of auction services for Manheim, will oversee the development and operations of Total Resource Auctions.
