LAKE SUCCESS, NY – DealerTrack Holdings, Inc. announced that Thomas R. Gibson has been elected to its board of directors. In addition, DealerTrack announced that five directors – Norman Buchan, Carty Y.K. Chock, David Lawson, Lou Cosso, and Thomas Wolfe – have recently resigned from the board. With the addition of Gibson, DealerTrack's board of directors is currently comprised of seven members.

Gibson was chairman of Asbury Automotive Group, an automotive retailer, from 1994 to 2003. He was also Asbury's chief executive officer between 1994 and 1999, and interim chief executive officer for a portion of 2001. Prior to joining Asbury, he served as president and chief operating officer of Subaru of America, Inc. and as director of marketing operations and general manager of import operations for Chrysler. Gibson began his career in 1967 with Ford Motor Co. and held key marketing and field management positions in both the Lincoln-Mercury and Ford divisions. He also serves on the board of directors of IKON Office Solutions.

The six continuing members of the board of directors are:

  • Mark F. O'Neil - chairman and CEO of DealerTrack Holdings, Inc.

  • Daniel E. Berce - president of AmeriCredit Corp., an independent auto finance company.

  • Mary Cirillo-Goldberg - former chairman and CEO of OPCENTER, LLC, a privately held company that provides help desk, e-commerce, and network operations services.

  • Steven J. Dietz - partner at GRP Partners, L.P., a venture capital firm.

  • James David Power III - founder and chairman of J.D. Power and Associates, a marketing information firm.

  • Howard L. Tischler - president and CEO of First American Credit Management Solutions Inc., a finance source software solution provider.
