AUBURN HILLS, MI – Chrysler Group reported that its Five-Star Dealers sold 8,794 certified pre-owned vehicles (CPOV) in April 2005, an increase over April 2004 when 8,758 units were sold. Year-to-date sales totaled 36,584 units, an increase of 8 percent over year-to-date results last year.

"April is our 12th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains and continues the strong selling momentum established during 2004," said Ray Fisher, Chrysler Group vice president - sales and service and parts operations.

For a vehicle to be certified under the Chrysler Group's used-vehicle program, it must be a 2000- through 2005-model pre-owned vehicle with less than 65,000 miles, and pass a 125-point inspection. Chrysler Group certified pre-owned vehicles are backed by an 8-year/80,000 mile powertrain limited warranty, a 3-month or 3,000-mile maximum care warranty, 24-hour, 365 day full roadside assistance, and $35 per day rental car allowance.

Marketed as "Brand Spankin' Used," Chrysler Group's certified pre-owned vehicles are sold only through Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep dealerships that have earned the Five-Star certification. Five-Star certification is a comprehensive validation of the dealership's facilities, operational processes, salesperson, and technician training accreditation, as well as customer satisfaction survey ratings. Approximately 2,400 Chrysler Group dealerships in the U.S. are certified Five-Star Dealers.
