LAS VEGAS – Jim DesRochers, president of the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA), announced at the Conference of Automotive Remarketing (CAR), the creation of a new NAAA Task Force on Benchmarking Standards.

The task force would focus on the continuing process of integrating NAAA members with original equipment manufacturers (OEM), fleet/lease and other business partners toward taking pro-active steps towards industry standards. Approaching with a similar consensus building strategy like the NAAA took with the National Arbitration and Vehicle Grading initiative, the association named Jeff Heichel, director of used-vehicle activities for General Motors as the chairperson of the NAAA Task Force on Benchmarking Standards.

Joining task force members are the following industry leaders: Steve Houston-WFS Financial, Russ Stegall-Ford Motor Company, Carl Scandura-Toyota Financial Services, Milton Schoff-Manheim, Randy Beil-BMW Financial Services, Paul Seger-GE Remarketing, Tom Caruso-ADESA Boston and Bob Sullivan of Chattanooga Auto Auction.
