ATLANTA – Manheim recently announced the upcoming grand opening of the new Baltimore-Washington Auto Exchange (BWAE) in Elkridge, Md.

The facility, which was completed in January, is scheduled to host a grand opening sale on March 22. Located on a 285-acre lot with 900 dealer parking spaces and a 500-space overflow lot, the auction is expected to feature more than 2,000 vehicles for sale at the grand opening event.

BWAE features a 10-lane facility with plasma screens in each lane to accommodate Simulcast sales, as well as a conference center, full-service cafeteria, 50,000-square-foot paint and body shop and mechanic shop. The facility also includes a dealer technology center where dealers will have access to personal computers with high-speed Internet service and fax and printing capabilities.

The grand opening event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, special guests to perform the national anthem and prizes. Prior to the auction, a grand-opening party will be held on the evening of March 21.

The new facility is an upgrade of the original auction that was built on 25 acres in 1979.
