The first NASCAR-themed sale by the Pennsylvania Auto Dealers’ Exchange (PADE) on July 23, 2003, set a new record for that week’s sale in the auction’s 46-year history.

The event featured an appearance by the Bobby Gerhart Racing Team, who brought and displayed two cars and their 70-foot team trailer for dealer tours. The entire team also signed autographs for customers throughout the sale.

Dealers were offered the chance to try their skills in an official NASCAR racing simulator. A group of winners received pit passes to the Pocono 500 the following weekend as special guests of PADE and the Gerhart team. That group was treated to two days of garage and pit tours, watching close-up engine changes, and seeing two races from inside the pits.

Due to the overwhelming success of the event and positive feedback from customers, the auction plans to make NASCAR Week at PADE an annual event.
