DriveItAway, Inc., a provider of car dealer focused SaaS mobility solutions, announced a partnership with AccuTrade on Tuesday.

Through the partnership, more than 5,000 car dealers will gain the ability to list vehicles for sale, rent, or rent-to-own to ride share drivers who download the DriveItAway app.

Car dealers, the company explained, can immediately rent a vehicle to a mass of retail buyers and sell aged inventory to more than just wholesale buyers.

As part of the move, DriveItAway gig economy app users will also gain detailed vehicle valuation, pricing, and sales history on all used vehicles.

“This marks a historic occasion as a new tool for dealers, to fight ‘profit compression,’ in their choice for immediate vehicle sale or rental opportunities,” said John F. Possumato, CEO and founder of DriveItAway. “For the first time instead of just offering a higher mileage, off-brand, or other non-retail type trade in, or over aged inventory, to other dealers on the wholesale market, Accu-Trade dealers, with one click, can push a car to millions of Uber, Lyft and other gig economy drivers, either for purchase, rent or rent-to-own.”
