Nick Peluso, a 30-year veteran of the remarketing industry and leader at Manheim since digital auction sales were a burgeoning idea, will retire at the end of the year.

Peluso will serve out his final months as president of Manheim digital. In this position, Peluso has led the creation and deployment of the first omni-channel experience for Manheim, bringing together key digital channels such as Manheim.com, Simulcast, and Online Vehicle Exchange (OVE) into one integrated destination for buyers and sellers.

He was also instrumental in developing Manheim Express, which saw 60,000 dealer downloads and more than 370,000 vehicles scanned through the mobile application in its first year.

“I’ve been so incredibly fortunate to work with such terrific people throughout my career – they’ve truly made my journey inspiring and memorable,” said Peluso. “And, while I’m retiring from Cox Automotive, I’m not thinking of this as the end of my career, but rather the beginning of my next journey.”

Peluso had a strong presence in the remarketing industry community throughout his career, as he participated in and spoke at key industry events, such as the Conference of Automotive Remarketing (CAR), the National Automotive Dealer Association convention, the National Remarketing Conference, the International Automotive Remarketer’s Alliance’s (IARA) roundtables, and NAAA events.

Peluso received the NAAA- and IARA-sponsored Bobit Industry Icon Award in recognition of his vision, technological innovation, and leadership at the 2019 CAR.

Throughout his career Peluso served in various strategic leadership positions in sales, marketing, vehicle portfolio management, and in 2017 was promoted to president of Manheim Digital, the company stated.

His career in the automotive industry began in 1988 with ADT Automotive. His first position was as a western regional sales rep and he was eventually promoted to vice president of sales and marketing.

When Manheim acquired ADT Automotive in 2000 the company named Peluso as president of Remarketing Solutions. He was later promoted to SVP, customer management, where he oversaw the company’s sales marketing, and pricing functions. In 2014 he was named president of RMS automotive.

“Nick has been a true visionary who used his wisdom and experience to move Manheim and the industry forward over the past 30 years,” said Grace Huang, president of Manheim. “Throughout his career, he was not only instrumental in creating impactful brands such as RMS Automotive and Manheim Express, he also helped to mentor and develop the next generation of bold leaders – this will be his lasting legacy.”
