Combining forces for the first time ever, the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) and the Conference of Automotive Remarketing (CAR), produced by Bobit Business Media, presented the 15th annual CAR Conference March 3-4 in Las Vegas.
"It's a new economic climate, and the timing is right for us to make changes that will make the best use of our time and resources while attending to the vital work of NAAA's rapidly-evolving agenda," said Bob McConkey, NAAA past president.
Co-located with and preceded by the International Automotive Remarketing Alliance (IARA) Winter Roundtable, there were more than 800 remarketing professionals in attendance. In addition, more than 70 speakers or panel participants were represented at an array of more than 20 educational sessions. Also, 24 exhibitors demonstrated new products and services to attendees on the expo floor.
Keynote speakers included Ed Tonkin, chairman for the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), who presented NADA initiatives and their impact on remarketers; Bob Mulkey, owner of Regal Car Sales and Credit, who presented what dealers really want from remarketers; Waldek Raczkowski, residual business analyst and COO for the Ford Motor Company, discussed current economic trends; and Donald Foy, executive director for Manheim DRIVE Center, discussed how technology will help to transform the remarketing industry.
