Digital vehicle remarketer Liquid Motors, Inc. has hired Keith Whetter as vice president of sales to work with the executive team to expand Liquid Motors customer base in the wholesale arena, the company has announced.
As vice president of sales at Liquid Motors, Whetter will focus on expanding the sales efforts for Liquid Motors wholesale merchandising solutions to remarketers and other wholesale industry companies. He will work to leverage company's wholesale solutions for independent auto auctions, remarketers and large accounts.
Whetter joins the company from Auction Broadcasting Company, where he served as vice president of sales. In that role, Whetter focused on growing OEM, institutional, and dealer sales at abc auctions. Whetter also assisted in the rollout and training of new auction sales teams during ABC's expansion to eight locations.
He's a third generation 35-year automotive veteran with diverse marketing, lease and sales experience. Whetter was raised in Farmington Hills, Mich., where his father and grandfather retired from Ford Motor Company after 40 and 45 years of service respectively.
Whetter graduated from Northwood University in 1983 and began his career with Oldsmobile Division of General Motors. He held positions in both sales and service in St. Louis, Houston, and Phoenix and then transferred to Lansing, Mich., as the divisions special events coordinator, leveraging the division's involvement in motor sports, golf, NCAA, Disney, and movies.
In 1990, Keith was recruited as a member of the Lexus Division Launch Team in Chicago focused on the Dealer rollout in the Midwest. After the initial rollout, he transferred to Torrance, Calif., as a Lexus business manager, where he oversaw the re-design of the Lexus dealer financial statement. He left the auto business in 1996 to join Fleetwood Enterprises. He joined ABC in August of 2009.
