Copart has added 19 acres of land to its Memphis, Tenn. location in its latest expansion. So far this year, the company has opened over 12 new yards and expanded over seven of its existing locations, according to the company.

“This year, we’ve announced an unprecedented number of land expansions,” said Jay Adair, Copart's CEO. “With existing locations and operations around the nation, these expansions allow us to continue to efficiently meet the total loss demands of insurance customers. Our Memphis expansion is no exception.

One of the main reasons that the company decided to acquire additional acreage for its Memphis location was due to the growth that the location has experienced, said Jeremy Dodson, Copart Memphis general manager.

The Memphis location currently has approximately 2,000 vehicles up for bid. Auctions are held every Thursday at noon central time. Eligible buyers join the auctions and bid on vehicles through the Copart website or through the company’s mobile app. The physical locations also feature bidding kiosks for those on its premises.
