The National Auto Auction Association awarded XLerate Group Auctions with the Warren Young Scholastic Foundation award that signifies the auction group’s participation in the NAAA’s Auction Safety Certification and Lane Safety training program.

“Nothing is more fundamental than auction safety,” said XLerate CEO Cam Hitchcock as he accepted the award during Thursday’s NAAA meeting at the 2017 Conference of Automotive Remarketers in Las Vegas.  “We all want to get our dealers and our employees home safely after each sale, and we believe the NAAA training is a great tool to help.”

Hitchcock credited Robert Sullivan, XLerate’s vice president of operations and best practices and nine auction general managers for spearheading the 100% participation in NAAA’s Auction Safety Certification at its sales, according to a company announcement.

“Safety is clearly the number one priority,” said Sullivan. “Another important benefit of this certification program is mitigating potential uninsured losses such as legal fees, contract loss, overtime wages and OSHA fines.”

In addition, the award for the auction group’s participation in the NAAA’s Auction Safety Certification and Lane Safety Program was a $2,500 contribution to the scholastic foundation.
