Stall High School, located in North Charleston, S.C., currently has 21 students with no home or knows where their next meal will come from. The Stall High School H.O.M.E. project grew from a need to find housing for these students that wish to finish school and earn their diploma.

“I have some stories that would just break people’s hearts if they heard the, you know, kids sleeping on benches at the mall” said Kim Wilson, Stall High School principal. “Kids asking, ‘Can you find me a place to stay? I don’t have a place to stay. I don’t have any place to go.’”

After hearing about a school program in Missouri that provides housing to homeless students. Principal Wilson formed a special committee to explore purchasing a home near the school. The home will be for upper classmen and run by surrogate parents. Helping to provide these students consistency and stability is the goal.

Dealers have agreed to donate an amount for every vehicle that they buy and / or sell. In addition the auction will be donating for every vehicle sold during the week event.

“The initial response has been outstanding, raising over $6000.” according to Laura Taylor, General Manager of Charleston Auto Auction, “In addition to cash donations, dealers have agreed to donate $5 to $100 per vehicle."
