IronPlanet, an online marketplace for buying and selling used heavy equipment and trucks, has been selected by the Zachry-Odebrecht Parkway Builders to help manage and sell surplus equipment related to the SH99 Grand Parkway Project in Houston, as it gets closer to completion.

The equipment surplus is to be sold as the project gets complete and includes cranes, boom lifts, crawler tractors, wheel loaders, trucks, trailers, and other late model, low hour equipment. The Texas Department of Transportation awarded the $1.1 billion project for State Highway 99 Grand Parkway Segments F1, F2 and G to Zachry-Odebrecht Parkway Builders in September 2012 and work on these segments is scheduled for completion in early 2016.

“We are excited for the opportunity to work with Zachry-Odebrecht Parkway Builders to help sell their surplus equipment as they are nearing completion of this large road building project,” said Jeff Jeter, IronPlanet president. “IronPlanet’s online marketplaces, and our ability to help our customers dispose of their equipment in an orderly manner as equipment comes off of a construction project, are increasingly appealing to large contractors like Zachry-Odebrecht Parkway Builders. We will be working closely with Zachry-Odebrecht Parkway Builders on this project using our multiple disposition channels to market their equipment to our global buyer base.”

Equipment is available now at www.ironplanet.com.
