ADESA, a business unit of KAR Auction Services, announced changes in management at ADESA San Antonio. Clifton Sprenger will succeed longtime General Manager Sam Damato.

Both have a long tenure with ADESA: Damato has been a leader at ADESA San Antonio for more than 25 years. He joined the auction’s team in 1990 and has been general manager since ADESA acquired the auction in 1996. Sprenger has been with the auction more than 20 years, most recently as the dealer services manager.

“Sam has done a tremendous job leading the auction and has built many strong dealer relationships over the years,” said Pat Stevens, ADESA executive vice president of U.S operations in the West Region. “It has been a true pleasure working with him, and we extend our warmest wishes and sincerest thanks to Sam for his years of dedication.”

Moving forward, Damato leaves the auction in Sprenger’s capable hands. Sprenger has experience as general sales manager, assistant general manager and dealer services manager at this auction.

“Clifton is a familiar face at this property. He’s developed strong relationships with customers and earned the respect of team members during his more than 20 years here,” said Stevens. “I am excited about this opportunity for Clifton and am very confident this will be a smooth transition.”
