KAR Promotes New VP of IT Shared Services

Carmel, Ind.-based KAR Auction Services, Inc., a provider of used vehicle auction services, announced the promotion of Carolyn Bogan to vice president of KAR IT Shared Services (ITSS). KAR Auction Services, Inc. Chief Information Officer of IT Shared Services Gary Watkins made the announcement.

In this role, Bogan is responsible for the oversight and strategic vision of all workplace services and will be the main contact for all IT support needs. She will also develop and implement programs to strengthen technical support operations.

 “Carolyn’s extensive experience in technical support, paired with her outstanding level of performance with information security, makes her the best fit for this position,” said Watkins. “We are confident that she will be an essential contribution to the continued growth and success of the company.”

Bogan joined the KAR team in September 2013 as director of support services. In this role she was responsible for building and driving all technical support and service desk initiatives for the KAR Auction Services group of companies.

Prior to joining KAR, Bogan served as director of the global service desk for Dublin, Ohio-based Smiths Business Information Services, Inc., and was manager of the Technology Assistance Center at Houston-based Waste Management, Inc. Bogan earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston.
