ADESA, a business unit of KAR Auction Services, announced that the ADESA Indianapolis auction hosted the charity auction of a 2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo that raised $77,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

The Porsche was the first vehicle on the run list at the March sale at ADESA Indianapolis. The auction’s crowd, both in-lane and online, were larger than usual, in anticipation of this particular vehicle. The Porsche went to a customer in the lanes who had come to the sale from Nashville, Tenn.

“We’re humbled and honored to have this opportunity to again support JDRF’s mission,” said ADESA Indianapolis General Manager Dave Emerson. “When the dealer who owned this magnificent car approached me about this event, he knew of our long-standing support of JDRF and wanted to contribute in a personal way. We’re thrilled that the auction was able to bring in such a generous amount.”

This is just the latest entry on the list of JDRF efforts for Emerson. Last fall, he served as chairman of the local Indianapolis Walk to Cure Diabetes, which benefits JDRF. As part of that event, he raffled off a 1971 Pontiac GTO that was donated by ADESA Indianapolis. That raffle added $59,000 to the Walk to Cure Diabetes’ total intake.
