In 1949, the first Brasher's auction was opened in Salt Lake City by Frank and Esther Brasher, who founded a family-owned auction business that is now one of the oldest in the country. This year, seven Brasher's auctions throughout the west have held anniversary celebrations, proudly marking the group's 65 years of service as leaders in remarketing,

The final celebration of the year was held at Brasher's Sacramento Auto Auction October 21, with a party sale that included nearly 1,000 bidders in the lanes and online, vying for more than 2,800 vehicles crossing the block. Featured consignors included Ford Motor Company, Ford Credit, Wells Fargo Bank, Lobel Financial, Santander Consumer USA, Chrysler Capital, Wheels, Enterprise and Hertz. In addition, new and used car dealers from throughout the region bought and sold vehicles by the truckload throughout the day.

After a free barbecue tri-tip lunch in the lane, customers gathered for the final event of the day: more than $10,000 in prize drawings that included 49ers football tickets, barbecue grills and smokers, outdoor furniture, and a full outdoor barbecue kitchen.

"What a wonderful industry we've been a part of all these years," said John Brasher, who is among the 3rd generation of the Brasher family to participate in the business. "We're proud of the legacy established by our grandparents, Frank and Esther Brasher, and are excited to see that members of the 4th generation of our family are now joining us at the auction."

"We'd like to offer all our customers, employees, and friends a huge thank you for their many, many years of loyalty and support," concluded Brasher. "We promise to get to work on the next 65!"

Serving major markets throughout the West, Brasher's Sacramento Auto Auction offers a full range of remarketing services including reconditioning, inspections, transportation, inventory financing, and wholesale automotive, salvage, specialty, and Internet auctions.  Brasher's Sacramento Auto Auction is one of the founding members of ServNet, which was established in 1987.
