America’s Auto Auction has recognized Zach Evans, fleet and lease manager, at its St. Louis auction, for outstanding performance.

Evans stepped into the role as head of the fleet & lease department in April 2019 and has been hailed for his success in building the commercial segment of the business while guiding customers through the challenges of doing business in a COVID-19 climate, according to America’s Auto Auction.

“Zach hit the ground running when he arrived at America’s Auto Auction St. Louis in April of 2019,” said Todd Ritter, the auction’s general manager. “He came to us with a tremendous background in auction operations, as well as a familiarity with the fleet/lease customers and their particular requirements. He has taken that experience to help build and strengthen the fleet/lease accounts at America’s St. Louis.”

Evans began his career in the auction industry at ADSEA Memphis in 2014, when he was hired to work in the check-in department. He progressed from condition report writer and outside coordinator, to e-commerce specialist and account administrator for several fleet/lease accounts. After a year he was promoted to fleet/lease manager, serving in that capacity until his move to America’s Auto Auction St. Louis in the spring of 2019.

Evans has credited the America’s Team with his success in building strong customer relationships.

“Todd Ritter, my general manager in St. Louis, and Tammy Swofford, America’s National Sales Director, have both been of tremendous help, supporting me however they are needed,” said Evans.

Evans notes that the challenges of doing business during the COVID-19 pandemic have provided great opportunities to help educate customers and improve their auction experience.

“We weren’t a big internet sale prior to the pandemic, but we’ve turned that around since COVID came along,” said Evans. “Many of our long-time customers were unfamiliar with buying and selling online, so we took the opportunity to work with them to make the process easier. Growing our internet audience has contributed to our overall strength now that the dealers are back in the lanes. Now we can focus on working with our clients to get more of the inventory that buyers are needing right now, whether they’re buying on the internet or at the auction.”

Evans connected with America’s Auto Auction through industry recruiting and consulting firm TPC Management. TPC works with auto auctions and companies that remarket vehicle portfolios and fleets around the country to identify the best talent to fill key management positions.
