Linda Silverstein accepted the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance's (IARA) Circle of Excellence award at a luncheon preceding the opening of the 2018 Conference of Automotive Remarketing (CAR). The award is presented to those who have made outstanding contributions to the remarketing industry and society.
Silverstein is the retired general manager of remarketing and rental operations for Ford Motor Co. She retired from the company in September 2017, and she held her recent position in remarketing at Ford since 2002.
She began her automotive career at Ford in 1982, where she stayed for more than three decades, serving a number of roles throughout her career including analyst, truck merchandising manager, market representation manager, distribution manager, field manager, marketer and salesperson
“I can’t tell you how honored I am," she said. “I feel honored to have had the opportunity to do so many things over the 35 years, but I will tell you that the most special thing that I did was working in the remarketing industry.”
The award was presented by Mary Haller, regional manager at America’s Auto Auction, and Paul Seger, VP, remarketing for Element.
“It's such an honor to be up here accepting this award, and I want to thank everyone on the IARA board who voted for me to get this award, because it's truly special to be here this year after i retired and to get to see so many friends that I've been friends with for the last 18 years and to know that the people are truly friends and it's not just because Im in this industry,” said Silverstein.
Previously, at CAR 2010, she was named as the Consignor of the Year. Last year, she received the Barbara Cox Automotive Women of the Year Award in 2017, and in 2009 she was inducted into the NAAA Hall of Fame.
