The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) will be hosting its spring roundtable at Caesars Palace Las Vegas on March 5, and will be holding various sessions March 6-7, concurrent with the Conference of Automotive Remarketers.

The Alliance’s lineup of moderators and participants for its various sessions is stacked with representatives from some of the biggest companies in the remarketing industry, such as ARI, ADESA, America’s Auto Auction, Avis Budget, Element, and the RVI Group will be acting as moderators or participants of the various sessions.

During the sessions, these industry leaders will tackle some of the current issues that remarketers and consignors are facing.

Paul Seger, VP asset remarketing for Element, will moderate a consignor-only session, focusing on the issues that matter to consignors.

In a separate session, open to all attendees, Doug Turner of America’s Auto Auction and Kurt Madvig of ADESA will tackle one of the biggest challenges that consignors face: justifying the money invested in reconditioning. Audience members will be encouraged to join in on the discussion that will look at the key factors in optimizing reconditioning dollars spent, in order to optimize return on investment and validate the initial money invested.

One topic that has surged in relevance this past year is the topic of off-lease volume. A rising number of off-lease vehicles have returned to market, with an increasing amount expected to enter the market in the near future, and it’s now that much more important to key in on residual values.

In a panel moderated by Rene Abdalah, SVP at RVI Group, panel participants will discuss the current market that is making it that much more crucial for remarketers to monitor the market for changing residual values, and the importance of doing so in order to place the correct value on these vehicles.

Lastly, if there is one thing that will become a bigger concern as more technology is put into vehicles, it’s data privacy. Data, and the amount of personal data that a vehicle retains, will be something that remarketers will need to know how to handle. An IARA session moderated by Andrea Amico of Jack Looper Logistics will look at industry best practices to safeguard all of the data and information held in vehicles today.

Registration for the IARA Roundtable meetings and the CAR conference is open now. IARA committee meetings will begin March 5, the day before the official start of CAR. Registration for a full conference pass is $895 before Feb. 2, 2018, but will raise $100 the following day.
