Ariz. Auction to Feature John Lennon's Austin Princess

Barrett-Jackson will showcase its Salon Collection in Scottsdale, Ariz., which will include classic cars that were affiliated with renowned figures in pop culture.

The classic and antique car auction company will showcase rock legend John Lennon’s 1956 Austin Princess and a 1930 Delage D8 Cabrolet built by the renowned French coachbuilder Henri Chapron, according to the auction company.

“Our Salon Collection has always offered the best of the best,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “While it continues to showcase some beautiful classics, this year it has grown to include some really priceless Americana and many other significant vehicles of our time with great provenance, like John Lennon’s personal Austin Princess.”

Lennon’s 1956 Austin Princess includes the original, signed registration by the rock music legend. The 1930 Delage D8 Cabrolet is the only Chapron-bodied D8 C known to survive today. It includes an extensive history covering its ownership and restoration.

Other noteworthy Salon Collection vehicles include a 1933 Auburn 12 161A Salon Phaeton convertible and a 1932 Rolls-Royce Springfield Phantom II Henley Roadster by Brewster and Company.

The 46th annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction will be held Jan. 14 to 22 at WestWorld of Scottsdale.
