KAR Adds New VP to Legal Team

KAR Auction Services, Inc., named Chuck Coleman as the company’s new vice president and associate general counsel.
Coleman, formerly a partner and Chair of the Business Practice Group at Indianapolis-based Krieg DeVault, will be responsible for organizing and managing the KAR legal team’s efforts in connection with its expanding merger and acquisition activities. In addition, Coleman will be working to support the General Counsel in a number of areas, including corporate governance and securities compliance.
“We are pleased to welcome Chuck to the KAR legal team during this time of growth for our department,” said Becca Polak, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of KAR. “Chuck has served as outside counsel on a number of our acquisitions during the last several years. Chuck’s familiarity with our business and extensive corporate and merger and acquisition experience will make him a great asset.”
Coleman graduated from the University of Notre Dame, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree, and later earned his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. He currently serves on the Board of the Harrison College Scholarship Foundation and is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Alabama State Bar Association. He has several times been recognized as an Indiana Super Lawyer and an Indiana Super Lawyers Rising Star.
