Rob Thompson, owner of Mid-State Auto Auction in New York Mills, Minn., has been elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors for ServNet Auctions.
He serves on the Board with Eric Autenrieth (Indiana Auto Auction); Bill Williams (Flint Auto Auction); Ben Brasher (Brasher's Auctions) - Treasurer; Kevin Brown (Missouri Auto Auction) - Vice President; Patty Stanley (Carolina Auto Auction/Indiana Auto Auction) - President; and R. Charles Nichols (BSC America) - Chairman of the Board.

Thompson is a second-generation owner of Mid-State Auto Auction, which was founded in 1983 by his father, Robert E. Thompson. Rob joined his father in the business after graduating from college in 1986, and took over the reins as sole owner last year when his father retired. Rob credits his father with extraordinary business acumen in building a thriving business in the small community of New York Mills, which today operates as an ultra-modern, four lane facility and has emerged as one of the region's leading auctions.
Stanley reports that, as ServNet's newest board member, Thompson was part of two important initiatives which will continue to define the group's support of the CFPB certified program. She notes that a committee of ServNet members was formed specifically to oversee CFPB compliance for the group's auto finance customers. In addition, the group is creating a central repository of auction data that ServNet auctions can use in conjunction with audits by their finance customers. Richard Curtis of ServNet's executive staff is coordinating the project.
