CarMark Certified, a warranty program that provides Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) warranties to all vehicle brands, based in Cary, N.C., will be administered nationally by NAC (National Auto Care) of Westerville, Ohio, beginning Jan. 1, 2014. The partnership was announced jointly by the two companies.

The CarMark Certified brand is owned by POADA LLC and was launched in 2010 as a complement to manufacturer-based CPO programs. It currently is offered by dealers in 14 states.

The CarMark Certified limited warranty provides either a 12/month-12,000-mile warranty from sale date or a 72-month/100,000-mile warranty from in-service date.

CarMark Certified appeals to franchise dealers as a way of providing a CPO product on non-manufacturer-affiliated vehicles in inventory and to independent dealers as a way to offer CPO vehicles for retail.

“We are very pleased to begin a new relationship with NAC, one of the industry’s most respected vehicle service contract and warranty companies,” said POADA’s Bill Zadeits in making the announcement. “We have been impressed with NAC’s commitment to excellence. They have a long and proud history of providing a beneficial service to the benefit of both dealers and consumers.”

“NAC fully understands the benefits of Certified Pre-Owned and the value proposition it brings to both dealers and consumers. We are excited to partner with CarMark Certified not only to help continue to grow what has been created but to add on and create a turn-key solution for our mutual customers nationwide,” says Christina Schrank, president of NAC.

NAC will begin administering the CarMark Certified program on Jan. 1, 2014, and will be responsible for providing warranties for any contract written after that date. Contracts written prior to that date are the responsibility of the current administrator.
