How hard is the program? The modules are 8-16 pages each. Read the material, review the material and then take the tests. Many are able to complete 4-5 exams at a sitting. Most of us are experts in some aspects of remarketing and how our organization does things. The course material provides a broader view of the industry as a whole that illuminates best practices and challenges faced by consignors, auctions and service providers.  Graduates of the program have uncovered a lot of their own blind spots and are better able to perform in their current role and work with others in the remarketing industry.

How do I get started? Just go to www.iaraonline.org and purchase a few modules. IARA members pay a discounted rate of $50 per module, non-members pay $100 per module. There are 20 modules in total.

When can I take the tests? Testing opportunities are provided at Industry Conferences and proctored by CAR Graduates and by proctors from the Educational Community. The test for each module are multiple choice, average number of questions is about 20. These are “closed book” test that confirm that you have reviewed and understand the material presented in each module.

If you have started or would like to start the Certification Process please register for courses and be prepared for testing at the IARA Summer Round Table in Dallas. CAR Testing will be available on site at the Hyatt Regency, Dallas, TX on Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and Thursday, Aug. 22 from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
