CHARLESTON, SC - Steve Simon, CEO of American Auto Auction Group (AAAG), announced that industry veteran Bill McIver will serve as the Chairman of AAAG's Board of Directors.

"We are very excited to announce the appointment of Bill McIver as AAAG's Chairman of the Board," said Steve Simon, AAAG CEO. "Bill's talent and vision have made their mark on the business of remarketing cars in this country, and we are tremendously fortunate to now work with him at AAAG," added Keith Lelux, AAAG's COO. "Our auctions are certain to benefit from his sage guidance, as he focuses on strategic initiatives for AAAG."

After a 40-year career with GMAC, McIver retired as Director of Internet Remarketing in May 2009. McIver held a number of management positions with GMAC, now Ally Bank, in virtually every area of financial services including collections, dealer credits, commercial lending, and remarketing.  He managed operations in a number of locations and spent ten years in GMAC's Detroit headquarters. He was the developer and Director of GMAC's online wholesale auction, SmartAuction. SmartAuction has sold more than 3 million vehicles online, revolutionizing the way vehicles are remarketed. He also managed the physical auction sales at 56 auction locations as Director of Physical Auctions for GMAC.

"Working with Steve Simon and Keith Lelux is an extraordinary opportunity for me," said McIver. "I have watched them build AAAG, and have been impressed with their commitment to the auction process. Their auction facilities are stand-outs in the industry. They are innovators in their own right, and I am looking forward to working with them and their Board of Directors."

McIver is semi-retired and lives in Cumming Georgia with his wife of 44 years, Nadine.  As President of Forsyth Consulting Group, Inc. he is an industry consultant for Ally and others in the Remarketing arena.

McIver received his undergraduate degree in Business at Augusta State College and his MBA from Samford University in Birmingham, AL.  He is the recipient of numerous awards including the GM chairman's award and the AutoRemarketing Lifetime Achievement award.
