Manheim Debuts Chip Wizard
New paint repair division of Manheim subsidiary Dent Wizard International currently offers on-site services at 18 Manheim auctions, with additional locations expected in the near future.

After several years on the road, it’s not uncommon for a vehicle to have a nick or two to show for it. When it comes time to remarket the vehicle, even normal wear-and-tear can affect the sale price.
Now, vehicles rolling through the lanes of certain Manheim auctions might look a little more like new. The auction company’s subsidiary, Dent Wizard International, recently rolled out a new paint repair division called Chip Wizard.
Chip Wizard offers on-site paint repair services for vehicles before and after sales, as well as for units not slated for auction. The Chip Wizard Service is available at 18 Manheim Auctions, with more locations expected to be added in the near future.

Chip Wizard complements the work of existing body shops, according to the company.
Exterior repair services include:
Squeegee applications: Repairs small chips caused by rocks, salt, or gravel.
Spot paint applications: Repairs scratches on bumpers, mirrors, and moldings with an exact color-match spot paint application.
Brush touch: The airbrush tool focuses specifically on damaged areas to cover minor or all-over damage.
Black out: Spray paint is applied to blacken backgrounds on vehicle parts, such as wheel wells, wiper blades and arms, and under-carriages.
Vinyl pinstripes: This process enhances any vehicle by applying vinyl striping, available in an array of colors, widths, and designs.
Certain Chip Wizard locations offer interior repair services as well, including:
Interior repair: Burns and holes are removed by adding small fibers to the damaged area.
Leather & vinyl: Burns and holes are removed by using the proper filler materials to repair the damaged areas. A special dye then is applied to cover the repair and match the existing color.
Carpet dye: Stains are removed and then a water-based dye is used to color the carpet.
Gold package: Gold plating is added to any chrome-plated item.
