Edmunds & Carfax Team Up
Edmunds.com and Carfax announced a new agreement that enables dealers and manufacturers to include Carfax Vehicle History Reports for used cars listed on Edmunds.com.
Edmunds.com and Carfax announced a new agreement that enables dealers and manufacturers to include Carfax Vehicle History Reports for used cars listed on Edmunds.com. Starting in early 2014, dealers who use Carfax can provide potential buyers with free access to Carfax Reports for their cars listed on Edmunds.com with just a single mouse click.
“Carfax Reports are integral part of our selling process,” said John Della Penna, general manager at Route 22 Toyota in Hillside, N.J., part of the Bram Auto Group. “For nearly 20 years, we’ve sold more cars for more money by including a Carfax Report with every vehicle we sell. It’s what our customers want, both online and on our lot.”
More than 27,000 dealers and 37 manufacturer Certified Pre-Owned programs choose Carfax Reports to help build confidence in their inventory and sell cars faster. Now, they can leverage their partnership with Carfax even more by including the Carfax name alongside every vehicle they list on Edmunds.com. In fact, when dealers provide free Carfax Reports, online shoppers are twice as likely to look at those cars and five times more likely to submit a lead, according to a new independent study.
“Providing access to vehicle history reports generates trust between car shoppers and dealers, and we believe that trustmakes it easier for car shoppers to buy and for dealers to sell,” stated Edmunds.com Vice President Brian Terr. “Our renewed relationship with Carfax helps Edmunds.com’s community of car shoppers and dealers build trust and move forward together with higher satisfaction in the process.”
Edmunds.com has approximately 18 million visitors each month. Re-entering into an agreement with Carfax gives dealers and manufacturers partnered with Edmunds.com another way to more effectively merchandise their inventory online.
“Edmunds.com is an incredibly valuable resource for used car buyers and sellers,” said Bill Eager, vice president of Carfax. “We look forward to a great relationship with Edmunds.com and are excited to see our mutual customers have their Carfax Reports on Edmunds.com once again.”
