WAVERLY, NY - State Line Auto Auction in Waverly, N.Y. held its first General Motors factory-sponsored auction 22 years ago this month, and celebrated its enduring relationship with GM on March 8 with an auction event.
According to Jeff Barber, owner and president of State Line Auto Auction, all 400 vehicles in the GM sale were set for Absolute Sale.
"We're gonna sell cars like it's 1990 at next week's GM sale," said Barber prior to the event. "We'll run 400 vehicles and will post 400 sales. It will be a tremendous way to celebrate 22 years with General Motors at State Line Auto Auction!"
To keep the excitement high in the lane, there was no online bidding at this year's GM Anniversary Sale. Dealers had to be at the sale in person to buy, and online bidding was turned off. The auction served a free breakfast and gourmet lunch to all in attendance, and held a cash drawing for $1,000 at the conclusion of the sale. In addition, all attending dealers received a commemorative gift.
