FRANKLIN, TN - Pittsburgh Independent Auto Auction (PIAA) was named as one of GM/GMAC’s newest sale locations, and has set an inaugural sale for October 14, reports Chris Angelicchio, the auction’s assistant general manager. PIAA is one of six ServNet auctions added this year as auction partners for GM and GMAC.

“We are delighted to welcome General Motors to PIAA, and are anticipating a tremendous sale on the 14th,” said Angelicchio. “Adding a GM closed sale and a GMAC open sale at PIAA has caused quite a stir among the dealers in this region, and we expect to see a big and enthusiastic crowd at our first GM sale.”

Pittsburgh Independent Auto Auction has served national remarketers and area dealers for more than three decades. Family owned and operated by three generations of the Angelicchio family, PIAA is known throughout the region for its commitment to its customers and contribution to the auction industry. Dave Angelicchio, the auction’s general manager, recently completed a year’s tenure as President of the National Auto Auction Association, and will continue to serve as the NAAA Chairman of the Board in 2011.

ServNet auctions have a long and successful history with General Motors and GMAC, observes Richard Curtis, ServNet's Executive Vice President of Industry Relations, noting that with the addition of PIAA, a total of ten ServNet auctions are now selling for GM and/or GMAC.

"ServNet auctions consistently rank among the top-performing auctions for General Motors, the nation's largest institutional seller of vehicles in the wholesale market, and GMAC, the nation’s largest financer of vehicles," said Curtis. “A first-rate facility and exemplary customer service mark PIAA as a leader in its region and an obvious choice to join the ranks of ServNet’s top performers for GM and GMAC.”

Curtis remarked that General Motors and GMAC jointly remarket vehicles at 42 GM Sponsored Auctions sites across the country in both a “closed” and “open” sale environment. Of those 42 facilities, only 16 are independent auctions, and 8 of those independents are ServNet auctions. In addition GMAC has “stand alone” sponsored sales at two additional ServNet auctions: DAA Northwest in Spokane, WA and Dealers Auto Auction of Alaska in Anchorage.

PIAA will run a GM Closed sale every other Thursday at 10 am, and a weekly GMAC sale on Tuesday. More information may be obtained at www.pittautoauction.com.
