CHATTANOOGA, TN – Chattanooga Auto Auction celebrated with its own month-long “Derby Days” promotion. Running Mar. 4 through Apr. 8, the event included all dealers buying or selling at the auction throughout the duration of the promotion and culminated in a grand prize trip for two to the Kentucky Derby.

“It’s hard to resist the excitement that surrounds the Kentucky Derby in our part of the world,” said Chattanooga Auto Auction’s Marketing Manager Erik Smith. “It seems that everyone has a favorite horse, and conversations inevitably turn to trainers, jockeys, odds, and colors. We thought we’d add some excitement to our spring sales with a Derby event of our own!”

Every dealer buying or selling at the auction was entered into a drawing held at the end of the sale day. Six names were drawn, and those dealers participated in a race using dice to determine the winner. The winning dealer received $500 and was also entered into the “Grand Champions Race,” which took place on Apr. 8. A total of six winning dealers qualified for the Grand Champions Race, with the winner of that event receiving the trip to the Kentucky Derby, accompanied by auction owners Bob and Tammy Sullivan.

Weekly 50/50 drawings also took place at Chattanooga’s Derby Days promotion. Dealers purchased tickets, and the owner of the winning ticket won 50 percent of the money received from that day’s ticket purchases. The auction then replenished that 50 percent and donated the total amount to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Located in the heart of the major metropolitan areas of Atlanta, Birmingham, Knoxville, and Nashville, Chattanooga Auto Auction offers a diverse consignment portfolio including off-lease, program vehicles, repossessions, government, and dealer vehicles at its Tuesday sale events. Established in 1996, Chattanooga Auto Auction’s facilities include eight sale lanes, an on-site restaurant, a test track, complete reconditioning facilities, dealer lounge areas, office areas, and secure storage lots capable of storing up to 3,000 vehicles. Chattanooga Auto Auction is member of ServNet, a premier group of independent auto auctions from across the United States.
